V6T 1W5 ====================================================================== User Support Supervisor/Specialist (Recruiting Range - $26,000 to $33,000 per annum) The primary function of the User Support Supervisor/Speicalist is to ensure that computing facilities maintained by the department are easily usable by the department faculty and graduate students. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, major responsibilies include: answering enquiries about the computer facilities and how to use them; acting as liason to other technical staff for user requirements and complex questions; developing general application programs at the request of users; maintaining and preparing documentation. Qualifications: A B.Sc. in Computer Science plus two years related experience. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are necessary. Ability to deal with people from the University community cordially. ====================================================================== Electronic Mail Analyst (Recruiting Range - $26,400 to $33,000 per annum) The primary function of the Electronic Mail Analyst is to ensure that all of the department's electronic mail and related systems are functioning correctly. These systems include the EAN system, Berkeley sendmail, UUCP, Usenet news, and domain name servers. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, major responsibilities include: monitoring the activities of all departmental electronic mail systems, and correcting or modifying their behavior to improve reliability and functionality; writing new codes when existing programmes are inadequate to perform a needed task as required. Qualifications: A B.Sc. or equivalent plus two years related experience (a Master's Degree would be desirable). Experience with electronic mail systems, and familiarity with some of the above mentioned electronic mail systems is essential for this job.
