Software Professionals The Excitement: Myrias Research Corporation has developed the Myrias SPS-2 Supercomputer for scientific/engineering applications by taking advantage of the power of parallel processing. Ours is a significant innovation, an important step on the way to a new generation of scientific computing. The Challenge: Contribute to the team effort to launching Myrias into the parallel supercomputing market. Positions immediately available: UNIX System Administrator The System Administrator in Technical Support will be responsible for operating system maintenance, enchancement and capacity planning for the systems used to support research, manufacturing and administration. A university degree in Computing Science or related discip- line, a working knowledge of the internals of the UNIX operating system and three or more years of systems program- ming experience will make you a strong candidate for this position. Your good interpersonal skills and communication ability will also be needed. The technical Support Group, an integral part of the R&D team at Myrias, operates a computing facility with large suns, a Pyramid, vaxen, 35+ workstations, and parallel supercomputers running UNIX linked by ethernet. Operating System Supervisor Programmer The operating system group is responsible to refine and implement decentralized control mechanisms for paging, scheduling, file system management and system monitoring and control, as well as the Unix operating system and other machine supervisory software. The Operating System Supervi- sor Programmer in the Operating Systems group will be con- structing the POSIX/UNIX implementation and fast I/O for an advanced parallel architecture. A university degree in Computing Science or related discip- line, and experience with POSIX/UNIX and UNIX system pro- gramming will be a definite asset, as will experience with high-speed I/O for mainframes or supercomputers. The chal- lenge of achieving high performance while staying compatible with the POSIX standard will be met by the successful appli- cant.
