EMPLOYMENT WITH IDACOM ELECTRONICS LTD.
IDACOM has an opening for Systems and Facilities Administrator.
The work pertains to:
1. Computer systems and equipment planning.
2. Investigate, evaluate and recommend hardware and software to
enhance the productivity of IDACOM personnel.
3. System administration for VAX750, SUN LAN, APOLLO LAN and PCs.
4. Ensure the facilities are secured against catastrophic failures.
5. Provide training to guidance to technical and non-technical
IDACOM personnel.
6. Report directly to Product Group Manager.
Applicants must have 3-5 years experience in system administration
with proven track record. Expertise in the UNIX or Mentor(Aegis)
environment is desirable but not essential.
IDACOM currently has an Ethernet LAN connecting a VAX750, a SUN 3/280
and several SUN 3/50's running MT XINU and SUN UNIX. IDACOM also has
a number of Apollo Workstations running Mentor Graphics Applications
under Apollo AEGIS 9.7, connected via Apollo Domain ring LAN and
gatewayed to the Ethernet LAN. The Ethernet LAN is also gatewayed to
an IDACOM Ethernet LAN's at the University of British Columbia and
in Darmstadt, West Germany, via dedicated X.25 links.
