JOB OPENINGS AT MYRIAS RESEARCH CORPORATION

Myrias Research Corporation has developed and is now marketing the SPS-2, a
Scalable Parallel Supercomputer with automatic programming environment.
The Myrias PAMS (Parallel Application Management System) provides a FORTRAN
and C environment with automatic parallelism, scalability, and program
debugging that distributes work automatically to keep the complete system
loaded. PAMS has already been extensively tested by running applications
on the SPS-1 containing up to 512 processors.
Several senior positions have been created in the Software Department to
enhance and add new functionality to PAMS. These positions are:
* one management position in the Operating System Group
* two systems programmer positions
* one system measurement position
* one compiler writer position
MANAGEMENT POSITION
To succeed, you have a broad knowledge of operating systems and at least 5
years experience in management. You know how to manage complex projects
from specification to test, you work in a planned environment and you con-
sistently deliver promised results on schedule. You have a university
degree in a relevant field.
SYSTEM PROGRAMMER POSITION 1
To succeed, you must be able to specify, design, and implement complex
software components. You have a broad knowledge of operating systems and at
least 5 years experience in operating system development. You are a skilled
C programmer and have a strong mathematical background. You have a univer-
sity degree in a relevant field. Experience in other parallel computer sys-
tems is an asset.
SYSTEM PROGRAMMER POSITION 2
To succeed, you must be able to specify, design, and implement complex
software components. You are a skilled C programmer. You have a broad
knowledge of operating systems, especially UNIX, and at least 3 years
experience with supercomputer or large mainframe I/O from a systems level.
You have a working knowledge of available I/O hardware and a good grasp of
issues involved in high-speed I/O. You have a university degree in a
relevant field. Experience in other parallel computer systems is an asset.
SYSTEM MEASUREMENT POSITION
To succeed, you have at least 3 years experience in system measurements and
simulations. You have a broad knowledge of operating systems and at least 3
years experience in operating system development. You have a university
degree in a relevant field. Experience in other parallel computer systems
is an asset.
COMPILER WRITER POSITION
To succeed, you must be able to specify, design, and implement complex
software components. You have the kind of experience in compilers and
related subjects which is not normally acquired in less than 5 years of
practical work in the field. Your strengths include code optimisation,
data flow analysis, and retargettable compilers. You understand the issues
involved in parallel processing and can apply them to the Myrias compilers
that have been designed to be run in parallel. You have a university degree
in a relevant field.
