THE COMPANY
Mortice Kern Systems Inc (MKS) is a growing Canadian software
development company located in a heritage building in downtown Waterloo.
The MKS offices are "people friendly", having large windows in offices
and a location within walking distance of a vast array of restaurants,
cinemas, shops, etc.
MKS has secured a world-wide reputation for the technical quality
of its software offerings in the UNIX, DOS, and OS/2 markets. MKS software
is delivered either through published end user software packages or
as custom consulting. MKS is an active participant in international
standards work through such efforts as the IEEE POSIX standard. MKS
software has been site licensed or is distributed by some of the most
influential companies and research institutions in the world, such as:
Bell Laboratories, Hewlett-Packard, UCLA, Continental Bank of Illinois, etc.
THE POSITION
MKS is about to expand its software development team and thus
requires a systems software developer who is familiar with the above
computer environments. This job is an opportunity to join a team
comprised of some of North America's best UNIX and system software
experts. We need the "creme-de-la-creme" to enable us to carry on
the MKS tradition of quality in our next generation of products.
The candidate will report to the VP, Research and Development.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for an individual who has proven ability
to work on large software development efforts. Software development
skills include (but are not limited to) design skills, the research
and application of state of the art algorithms, modern coding practices,
and above all excellent organizational and communications abilities.
Written skills are also a definite asset.
