		Technical Support Position Available

THE COMPANY
Mortice Kern Systems Inc. is a growing Canadian software
development and marketing company located in Waterloo, Ontario,
Canada. MKS is involved in the related fields of software development
under contract for large North American corporations and export sales
of a proprietary line of software products, developed in house by MKS.
MKS provides a dynamic working environment which balances personal
challenge with the rewards of success. MKS is in the upper echelon of
providers of technical software for DOS, OS/2, and UNIX. MKS corporate
offices are located in a heritage building in downtown Waterloo.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT
The candidate will exhibit the right mix of interpersonal skills
and the technical know-how necessary to represent MKS' line of
highly technical products. Since the technical support department is
the major after-sales contact between MKS and its customers, this
position requires a high degree of competence in both areas.

Technically, the preferred candidate will possess knowledge of the
UNIX utilities, some knowledge of common MS-DOS applications, a
understanding of systems programming, and a general problem solving
nature. While much of the material may be learned, we require the
right background to make the acquisition of this knowledge relatively
straightforward.

On the public relations side, the candidate will enjoy helping
people to solve problems. In addition, liaison with the marketing
and sales department is required in order to answer technical questions
that occur at the time of product sales. Lastly, trade show
involvement will require the candidate to provide technical details in
a face-to-face encounter with customers. Some North American travel is
involved.

OTHER SKILLS
The candidate must have good verbal and written skills, including
keyboard experience. A high level of organization and the ability to
work as part of a team are essential. The candidate must be personable
and able to talk to a wide range of people of differing managerial,
technical, and geographic backgrounds. Equally important is the
ability to listen to callers, find their concerns/needs and quickly
respond to each individual.

The above responsibilities assume that the candidate is personally
well-organized and self-motivated. The candidate will work within the
technical staff at MKS and report to the Vice President, Product
Development. There will also be a great deal of interaction with the
marketing and sales department.
