                        *** SOFTWARE ENGINEER ***

    The Job
    =======

    Digital Media Networks has a unique opportunity in Toronto for a
    UNIX/C programmer. We run a network of SUNs, PCs, and MACs, with
    the bulk of software development done on the SUNs. Our newsroom
    automation project is increasing in scope, and requires a top-
    notch programmer to assist the Chief Software Engineer.

    The duties will consist of various programming tasks, managed by
    the Chief Software Engineer. Initially, the challenge is to au-
    tomate the company-specific aspects of facility management, so
    that no faility management is required, except on an exception-
    reported basis. Then we require a joint effort on the further
    automation of our newsroom.

    The Talent
    ==========
    As part of a two-person team producing all of the company's
    software, your role will be very visible and very gratifying, as
    well as being very challenging. To meet the challenge, you must
    have:

      * a minimum of a BSc in computer science (or equivalent);
      * at least two years of UNIX/C programming experience,
        preferably in a SUN environment;
      * some familiarity with system administartive tasks in a SUN environment;
      * good people skills, to teach non-technical users what they need
        to know of UNIX to get their jobs done;
      * a disciplined, independant approach to work, requiring little
        hand-holding and taking a pro-active view of problem solving;
      * an informal, flexible, easy-going, small-company attitude to work.

    Salary will vary with the degree of above qualifications exhibited.
