RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES IN COMPUTER COMMUNICATIONS

Located in smart offices in Carlton, close to the University of
Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, the Computer 
Communications Program is seeking highly-motivated professionals to 
contribute to an internationally-recognised research and development team.

The Computer Communications Program is involved with
 * establishing advanced networking environments
 * developing application-oriented protocols 
 * providing advanced communications services for the office and 
   business systems.
The Computer Communications Program is very active in the area of Open 
Systems Interconnection and the emerging international standards for 
computer communications.

The Computer Communications Program offers its staff opportunities to 
interact with the international research community in an advanced research 
environment, to work in an atmosphere of increased interest and involvement 
with industry, and to make an innovative contribution in the field of 
information technology.

Immediate opportunities exist in the Computer Communications Program 
for Research and Experimental Scientists.  Research Scientists 
are required to have a PhD or equivalent research experience and leadership 
skills are essential. Experimental Scientists must have a 
degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline or evidence 
of equivalent professional capability.  A commitment to sound software 
engineering principles is essential.

Experience in the following areas is sought:

 *  Open Systems Interconnection Standards
 *  Computer Communications Protocols
 *  Computer Networking and Services
 *  Human Computer Interfaces
