       GRADUATE INTERN PROGRAMME

 Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory

POSITION TITLE:           Research Intern

APPLICATION DEADLINE:     December 1, 1989 or until a qualified individual
                          applies thereafter

QUALIFICATIONS:           Bachelor of Engineering Science Degree
                          Intention to continue with studies towards an
                          M.E.Sc. or M.Eng.

RESPONSIBILITIES:         Primary responsibility is the performance of wind
                          engineering studies for major engineering projects
                          around the world, coupled with opportunities for
                          part-time graduate studies in

                                        wind engineering
                                   
                              offshore structures, wind/wave action
                                   
                                  environmental fluid mechanics
                                   
                             dynamics of structures and foundations
                                   
                                     structural reliability
                                   
                                     earthquake engineering

                          Timing of commencement for graduate studies is 
                          negotiable.

SALARY:                   Salary guided by prevailing professional scales
                          and experience, and adjusted to suit graduate
                          study load.
