POSITION: Computing Coordinator (One Level 08N) DEPARTMENT: Industrial Engineering SALARY RANGE: $28,656 - $33,713 - $38,770 POSITION SUMMARY: Under general direction fo the Chair, the incumbent develops computing support in the areas of computer access, reference matrial, user manuals, maintenance, security, purchasing, renovation, communication lines, and general purpose software. Duties include: developing and maintaining a library of computer reference material; compiling/maintaining and inventory of deptartmental equipment; preparing user manuals; implementing maintenance and security procedures; advising on the selection of computer equipment and materials; procivding for the networking of computers; providing student support by ensuring equipment is operating properly and acting as a consultant on software and equipment; consulting on operating procedures, new equipment installation, minor problems and software enhancements; advising staff on the use of computing facilities; and keeping informed of current hardware and software developments relevant to Industrial Engineering research areas. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science Experience: several years relevant experience Other: Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to exercise sound judgement as well as organise and coordinate the activities of various projects.
