and software support for instructional and research
laboratories within the Department. In the short term,
these responsibilities will pertain to a major undergraduate
micro computer laboratory known as the Maclab as well as a
number of high quality engineering workstations attached to
the Advanced Computing Laboratory. The Maclab is an
AppleTalk local area network consisting of 40 student

responsibilities relating to hardware will include
overseeing maintenance of the facilities (initial problem
diagnosis, shipment of the machinery to the hardware service
organization, and reinstalling repaired machines) and
miscellaneous interconnection of components, including
asynchronous serial devices, Ethernet devices, and so on.

The successful applicant for this position will hold a
Master of Science degree in Computational Science or
equivalent and will have considerable knowledge of and

And your systems programmers must hold a PhD, right? I'm scared
to ask what sort of qualifications the hardware guys need :-)
