Has anyone out there in University sector of net.land managed to talk National out of sources for their GENIX (aka 4.1bsd) port for the 16032? We tried the NSC University Program route; the manager (Pamela Flournoy) was instructed by the NSC Marketing people that the going price for sources was $50K. We also tried the line "We already have both the Bell, and Berkeley licenses" to no avail. Apparently, the marketing people at National feel that since they paid $50-60K for their sources, so should all their customers (including Universities). The real problem here is that we have not penetrated the outer layer of doorpersons that most companies wrap around their technical people. Is there anyone listening to this plea inside NSC that can help us out? Rick Spanbauer SUNY/Stony Brook Telco: (516) 246-8393 (516) 246-3418 (516) 246-7090 Net: ..!philabs!sbcs!rick
