[net.micro.16k] So long, net.micro.16k, it wasn't nice

jk@utastro.UUCP (John Krist) (12/10/85)

Ok, you 68k'ers have got my goat, and I've grown tired of getting
mail which reads just like a Motorola ad. I've been told some of the
strangest stuff, and when I got mail from someone at Motorola saying
that the 32032 shouldn't be called a real 32 bitter because it doesn't
have a 32 bit address path, I said "Enough!" . I had to put up with
magazine articles a so by Motorolers that the 68000 should be considered
  a 32 bitter.

Some of the mail has been crude, implying that I don't know anything
about the subject, and that those who don't love Motorola and its
offspring are also lacking intelligence in this area.

I called for flames, but not for mail that says "be quiet, listen to
me, I will tell you what is right." I'm sorry, but I expected a good
discussion about the pro's and con's of the 32032 compared with the
68020 and 80386, not " the 68020 is the word of God " stuff. The people
over in net.micro.68k haven't included us in their comparisons, so I just
though that maybe we could. I didn't know that .16k was created so that
68k'ers could make fun of NSC.

Send me no more mail about this, for I see no reason why I have to
read mail that insults rather than informs. Unless you have a question
about the DSI-32 board, please leave me alone. I will try to answer
questions I received before the week is up, and I will post the Dhrystone
results when I get them. But I have had enough, and I'm going to stay
  quiet.

                                              Expecting better,
                                               John Krist
