[net.analog] Solid State Heat Exchanger

williams@kirk.DEC (John Williams 223-3402) (10/26/84)

I recall Cambion makes Solid State Heat Exchangers. They
come in various sizes. The one we looked at was 4x6x3/8". It
worked fairly well. I don't have any numbers, but it looked like
a good alternative for hermetic designs. It would probably be
great for temperature stable references. The heat transfer was
bidirectional and dependent on current flow direction. It would
be great connected to the case of a hybrid reference circuit.

Packaged laser diodes come with an internal Peltier cooler that's
semi-conducter in nature.
