I just saw the add for Maxim's new chip line of AC to DC converters. Just a couple of resistors and one cap. and you can connect it directly to 110 volts AC and get 5 volts DC regulated to within 4%. It also has a power on reset circuit built in. Such a deal! Very useful in certain situations. THe big question is: What are the UL problems with this, if any? Does UL require power line isolation?
