If the signals you are tracing do not have a high dV/dt, some kind of tracking A/D might do the trick. I don't know if they are on the commercial market yet, but a tracking A/D with the tracking being performed by a flash converter could yield 2 mhz for 12 bits with high linearity. For you do it yourselfers, National has an 8 bit half flash converter that converts 8 bits/1.5 us for $12.00. Add this to a linear DAC, and you can yield 12 bits/10 us for @ $50.00. John.
