Let me start by saying there are two kinds of "UPS"s:
1) standby, which isn't a real UPS but detects loss
of power and starts up an inverter
2) online, which takes AC, turns it into DC, feeds
a battery, and then turns DC back into AC.
Number 2 is more expensive but can give better service. Number 1 is
ok for most applications, although you can see a florescent lamp flicker
during the switchover, it does not go out. All the equipment I have
doesn't notice, anyway.
So the question is, what would you expect to happen if you plug a UPS
into itself? Do UPS designers have special provision for this kind of abuse?

People do what management inspects, not what management expects.

The UPS will give off a EMP which will be detected by the SAC who will commence WW3.
