I am trying to build a temperature controller for a heating element which will keep the temperature of the element within around 5 deg. F. by varying the voltage into the element. At present I plan to use a switching power supply and an adjustable regulator. So far, that is about the extent of my plans. I would like to be able to use an analog feedback network, but I don't know much about analog control systems design. Most of my experience is in digital design. If anyone in net.analog has any suggestions, they would be most appreciated. I would especially be interested in inexpensive ic's that might do what I want. The heating element, by the way, is less than .5 ohm and has to consume 1200 - 2000 watts. Please send replies to me personally, so as not to clutter the network. Thanks. /Mike Richard
