I have a Pioneer Laser disk player that works on the American NTSC system. Is it possible to use the same player on PAL disks (ofcourse using a PAL TV), with a 220/110V transformer in Europe? I understand that the disk actually records the composite video in FM format, and the player just demodulated the FM signal. Thus, since the PAL and NTSC systems use about the same bandwidth (in composite video) it should in principal be able to play back either? Can someone on the net shed any light on this line of thinking? By the way are laserdisks actually available in PAL format in Europe at all, or is this just an academic question? Thanks for any information ....... Ramesh @ AMD Sunnyvale, CA
