Let me give you another example of oversampling: your local movie theater. The movie is "shot" at 24 frames per second. But if it were shown at that rate no one would be able to put up with the blinking of the screen! To prevent this, each frame is shown twice; a light-gate interrupts the projection of each frame, thereby creating a 48 frame per second display. In the darkend environs of a theater you are hardly distracted by this blink rate. keith
