[net.bizarre] Flatus and "The Merck Manual"

*** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR BIZARRE STORY ***

Anyone who has ever had any health sciences experience is no doubt
familiar with "The Merck Manual", which is a staid medical reference book
which has been published in various editions since 1899. For those of you
who are not familiar with the book, this is a 2500+ page no-nonsense reference
book for the medical professional.
There is one exception, however... Get a copy of the current 14th
edition (published in 1982) and turn to page 793 and start reading the
third paragraph, which is on the subject of flatus. This is truly bizarre
for such a conservative book!
I could quote the passage here, but won't. For full effect, you
must see the book. Any library or decent bookstore should have a copy.

	Let's have more bizarre stories!
