Well here it is, bizarres and bizarrettes the results of the first annual net.bizarre poll of the week: Favorite Batman villain: 1) Penguin 7 1/2 By far the heavy favorite, he looks too much like Opus. Burgess Meredith did a good job, but he didn't sit on enough tellys. 2) Catwoman 4 These four votes could be more considered drools for Julie Newmar's body. One of the forerunners of the leather suit on TV. I guess some credit goes to Eartha Kitt and Lee Meriwether even though they weren't mentioned in the replys. 3) Mr. Freeze 1 1/2 Played by Eli Wallach, George Saunders and Otto Preminger. I never did * like foreigners. It was neat how he could change different sections of the room from 72 deg to -50 almost instantly, and he could then section off the room. 4) Commisioner Gordon 1 He along with his bumbling cohort Chief O'Hara brought new meaning to the word incompetence. After once hearing the line "It's no wonder how you rose to the top of your ranks, Comissioner!", I fear what the rest of the police force must've been like. The commisioner is a villain under the category: "With friends like this, who needs enemies." BTW: the actors who played these two parts are considered insignificant and therefore purposely omitted. Furthermore, they are not on the net. 4) Egghead 1 Longtime horror actor Vincent Price brought new meaning to the word horror in this part, but now he is reduced to do the rap portions on Michael Jackson albums. 4) Joker 1 4) Riddler 1 Two human laugh tracks. As for the Joker, see above comment about foreigners. I didn't like the Riddler either, though. His pajamas were a bit too flowery for my tastes. 4) Robin 1 Holy double agents, Batman! The only crime that Burt Ward was guilty of was bad acting. In fact, if this were a punishable offense, they'd have brought back the guillotine. Notice that he was the one who always got captured so that he and Batman ended up in a cliffhanging trap. And I'll bet you all just thought he was incompetent! On a side note: It is rumored that Burt Ward is somewhere on the net. 4) Shame 1 This one is my personal favorite. He was one of the few villains with class. I must admit though that it broke my heart to watch the man who does AT&T commercials now, getting beat up. *) Lots of (|-)) _______________________________________________________________________________ And now with a heavy heart, I must bid adieu to the USENET, since my status as a summer employee here at AT&T ends today. Yet I am using this opportunity to ask that one of my fellow netters take on the responsibility of being the bizarre pollster. I would like to return to this fine net one day, and find that this young tradition of the poll of the week has flourished into an institution, and that I am considered the father of it. But until then, farewell my fellow bizarres and bizarrettes. -- Robert A. Novo "Captain! They put creatures AT&T Bell Labs in our ears!
