Funny you should mention Kamloops, British Columbia. A cargo ship named after the town mysteriously disappeared in Lake Superior about 30 years ago. All aboard were killed, and the wreckage was not found until about 3 years ago.

One of my favorites (someone else already mentioned Spuzzum) is Wonowon, pronounced "One-Oh-One". It's a little town at mile marker 101 on the Alaska Highway.
