- In fact slugs *are* hermaphroditic, in the sense that they can change
from being male as far as reproduction goes to being female.

- Some slugs have an interesting way of mating (perhaps all, I can't
remember). Each of the group (orgies are possible) turns itself inside out
via its sexual orifice, and they all kind of slide around exchanging sperm
and eggs and whatever. I personally think that humans should adopt this
method, as an alternative to the normal boring old positions.

- Slugs are over 90% water. This means that if you are dying of thirst
in the desert, and come across a slug, you can theoretically at least squeeze
it or suck it or whatever to extract its water.

- On the other hand, if you do have a salt shaker you can simply place it
(the slug) on your tongue and salt it in the true net.bizarre fashion. This
is because salting it destroys the electrolyte balance in the outer membranes
that hold all that liquid in, thus making it easier for water to pass *out* of
the slug's body instead of *into* it, as is the normal case.

- In view of all this -- one more vote for the Banana Slug as the official
net.bizarre mammal.
