Here's another one for you would-be Knights of the Round Turtle
(or is that Turtles of the Round Table?):
aenne othre raedels
Ic tha wihte geseah; womb waes on hindan
thrithum othrunten. Thegn folgade,
maegenrofa man, ond micel haefde
gefered thaet hit felde fleah thurh his eage.
Ne swylteth he symle, thonne syllan sceal
innath tham othrum, ac him eft cymeth
bot in bosm, blaed bith araered;
he sunu wyrceth, bith him sylfa faeder.
another riddle
I saw a creature. Its belly was vehemently
Swollen behind it. Its servant followed,
A very strong man. So much had it suffered
That that which filled it flew through its eye.
But not forever does it die, when it gives up
Inside the other, but it again comes
Mended in heart, its blosom again uplifted.
He creates a son but is his own father.
Once again, please send your solutions (i.e. what you think this thing is)
to me via email, and I will post the correct and/or most amusing/creative
answer when I feel like it.
