[net.bizarre] Political Analysis: Dangermouse Disloyal to his Country

jer@peora.UUCP (J. Eric Roskos) (09/25/85)

While eating lunch today and contemplating the sociopolitical climate of
the world, I suddenly realized that last night's Dangermouse episode
reflects a dangerous change in Dangermouse's political affiliations.

In last night's episode, "Journey to the Earth's `Cor!'," Dangermouse sets
out to eliminate the "terrible racket" which is giving the PM a headache.
He finds a hole in the ground, and flying into it, discovers a small society
powered by the Sun at the Center of the Earth*. Eventually he ends the
racket... but, and this is most important, he promises not to reveal to the
people "upstairs" the existence of this subterranean society.

Now, just think a minute... Dangermouse is the ``World's'' greatest secret
agent. Everybody knows it is the responsibility of all agents to reveal
to their country the existence of significant political situations they
encounter. Furthermore, this society was an UNDERGROUND, i.e., subversive,
society! Yet Dangermouse went so far as to suggest to Colonel "K"** that
Penfold was ``barmy'' for mentioning such a place.

Clearly, one can only conclude that Dangermouse is no longer to be trusted.
