[can.politics] Alternative to Income tax?

As an alternative, how about abolishing personal income tax
and just charging sales tax?  This sales tax should be on all
goods and services.  To stimulate an industry, the tax may be
lower than on the other industries.  

The rich probably buy more than poor people hence their tax
is higher.  

Any comments?
