I recently read Farley Mowat's book "My discovery of America", in which he describes his experiences trying to go to the States last April. As you may recall, he was turned back at the border, as an undesirable alien. He was excluded under a Mcarthy era law whose main purpose was to protect the US from subversion by "the World Communist Movement". One of the most interesting things about the book was that the information concerning Mowat's subversive tendencies was supplied by the RCMP. No doubt it was provided in the days when the RCMP was out of control. The Americans agreed that to destroy the information the RCMP provided about law-abiding Canadians. Obviously, they haven't done so. If this concerns you, you should write Joe Clark.
