I know this should go in net.net-people, but can.politics is the newsgroup that would have the highest interest level in it. Donald W. ("Western") Acton and James B. ("Blowtorch") Robinson have deserted UBC, after >2 years in grad studies here. They are now entering yuppiedom, plotting out their career paths in their respective companies and debating about which VCR and BMW to buy. The old place won't seem the same without their caustic right-wing rhetoric to brighten the office. :-) The good news is, they're still going to be on the net! (Methinks this was an important component of their career moves.) Don will be working on the other side of town, at Microtel Pacific Research, near SFU (that's Simon Fraser University for you eastern types). Unfortunately this moves him further from the sight and smell of his beloved God's Country, Vancouver Island. Jim will be working at Human Computing Resources in Toronto (and Don thought that he had converted him to die-hard west-coastism). Unfortunately that moves him further from his beloved cousin Svend, who is still I believe hobnobbing with the Haida on Lyall Island. I'm sure I speak for all of us still labouring at UBC and the rest of the net when I say that I eagerly await the inaugural inflammatory messages from DWA and JBR's new net addresses. --Jamie. ...alberta!ubc-vision!ubc-cs!andrews "Yeah, let's get sushi -- and not pay"

Re the ascention of Robinson and Acton into the real world. That's funny, those jobs looked like programming jobs? Couldn't be. Can we assume you'll find some equally vocal replacements? :-) Cheers! -- Jim O. PS: I hesitate to say this right now because they may miss it in the shuffle, but congratulations! -- James Omura, Barrister & Solicitor, Toronto ihnp4!utzoo!lsuc!jimomura Byte Information eXchange: jimomura (416) 652-3880
