Here's to net.books!!! I'd like to submit the following (I just found out about it) Elaine Morgan's `The Descent of Woman'. published in 72,73 by Stein & Day, paper by Bantam. I'm mentioning the book because it fits in VERY well with many of the arguments I've seen in net.singles and net.women recently. As to the book itself: (from the back cover) Just what makes us so different from all other ape species? What do men and women have in common with dolphins, sexually speaking? Was woman merely the mate of Man-the-Hunter, or was she the PRIMARY EVOLUTIONARY FORCE? Did evolution--or men--decide what makes a woman sexy? (emphasis mine) Morgan is a very intelligent, informed, witty lady, and has a strong sense of the ridiculous in the arguments that have been circulating over the past decades pro/con evolution. Her arguments are sound, her style eminently readable. Descent is GOOD. I recommend it highly. thekid ...![ mcnc, we13, lime ]!rlgvax!thekid
