I don't like to read the plays myself as I find them difficult to
follow. I love seeing them performed however. An actor can make me
understand what is going on even when I can't quite understand the
words.
The best production I have ever seen was a Buffalo, NY
presentation of Macbeth in their Shakespeare in the Park Series a few
years back. They didn't change a word of dialogue but it was placed in
a Central American country that was undergoing a revolution. Twas a
super idea and really well done.
