The price of paper backs is getting quite high here but I was overwhelmed at the price for the same books in Australia. Just about across the board the prices were double. In answer to this problem there, I saw quiote a few 'swap shops', where you could trade what you had for another. Usually 2 for 1. They differed from used book stores in that you *must* trade. You could not just purchase outright. Not only that you had to stay within category. i.e. you could not exchange a Western for an adventure type. The exception was SF. If you had SF you could trade for anything. Bret Marquis

If you MUST trade in these paperback swap shops, how on earth do they make any money? They would just end up with a lot of books... Dave Sherman Toronto
