There was some mention here a while ago of mystery books. I don't read this genre very often. However, I enjoyed the Martin Beck books, by Per Wahloo and Maj Sowall (the spelling here's probably wrong and there's an umlaut missing). They fall into the subgenre called, I believe, the Police Procedural. I don't think I can give a good description of the books here. Let it suffice to say that Martin Beck is a police detective in Stockholm. There are something like ten books in the series, arranged in a definite chronological order. The characters of Beck and friends develop through the series, marry, divorce, etc. By the last book they're old friends. Unfortunately, Maj S. died, so the series is closed. Curiously, the first one I read was actually the third written, "The Man on the Balcony". It remains one of my favorites. I think it makes a better introduction than the first, "Roseanna", which I thought dragged. Has anyone heard of a book "Klienzeit"? By whom? The protagonist has medical troubles with his Hypotenuse. A sharp pain, directly from A to B. I can't find this book listed.
