Check the bibliography in a recent (~ 4 months ago) issue of Scientific American, for his column "Metamagical Themas." The topic was self-referential, self-duplicating ideas (verbal viruses--more GEB-like discussions). He lists a fictitious article in the bibliography, the author, title, and host magazine of which are similar to the article itself.
