My wife belongs to a small book club who read a book each month chosen by a member and then gather at that members house to discuss it. The person who chose the book also has to do some research about it and the author so that they may lead off the discussion and have a few facts handy. As her choice my wife decided upon How Green Was My Valley by Richard Llewellyn. She now has a slight problem in doing the background research, since our local library doesnt have too much on Llewellyn or Welsh history. Could any of you literary types provide any information along such lines as:- What was Llewellyns upbringing, did he have first hand knowledge of the mining community? How accurate is the book? How was the book received when it was first published? Any other relevent information will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.........David Kirkpatrick.
