My sister and I were discussing books we liked, and we both thought of one that we only vaguely remembered. It was a children's story (at least, we read it when we were in Jr. High, I think), called (maybe) 'The Little Prince' or 'The [something] prince'. It is NOT the story about the prince from a little world who visits Earth (and other planets) and is friends with an airplane pilot. It IS about a prince who was locked in tower, couldn't walk, and had a magic carpet. We don't remember much else, just pictures and vague impressions. I thought it was a book, and my sister thinks it was a short story. Any bells rung out there? (I know this isn't much to go on ...) On a related topic, has anyone out there read 'The Secret Garden'? I seem to remember reading it about the same time. - rene -- Arpa: rene.umcp-cs@CSNet-relay Uucp:...{allegra,seismo}!umcp-cs!rene

I believe the book you are looking for is "The Little Lame Prince". I do not recall the author. "The Secret Garden" is by Frances Hodgson Burnett who also wrote "The Little Princess" and a few other less well-known books.

I shall dig it out over Christmas break and find out who the author was. (I have to brave the attic to retrieve my humidifier, anyway.) Anne Chenette chenette.umn-cs@csnet-relay ihnp4!umn-cs!chenette
