Does anyone have any information concerning the release date of
William S. Burrough's ``Place of Dead Roads''? I read last year
that it was due out this month (Feb 84). I've also read (and
heard read) several excerpts and it looks like a good follow-up to
``Cities of the Red Night''. Are there any other Burroughs fans
	out there?

Place of Dead Roads is in the stores (at least in New York) and the word
is that it is a Cities of The Red Night set in the West of the 1800's. Could
be very interesting. I find I need a Burroughs fix every few years to keep
me honest amid growing conservatism. For those in the New York area who don't
already know, there is a documentary entitled "Burroughs - The Movie" that
was shown this summer in the New York Film Festival. It begins a regular run
at the Bleeker St. Cinema in Greenwich Village this Friday, Feb 10. I haven't
seen it so can't vouch, but it is supposed to be exraordinary.
