I would highly recomend th book "A Confederacy of Dunces" written by John Kennedy Toole (grove press). I'm sure this book may have made the NET before but I think it's worth repeating. Its to bad the author never realized how many others shared his sense of humor. Keenan (ATTIS DENVER) druca!kcd

Toole was so depressed by his inability to get his masterpiece published that he committed suicide. His mother went on a lengthy campaign to get it published, and when she finally succeeded the book received great praise from the literary community and much lamentation that it would be the only one from the gifted author. -- Jim Balter, INTERACTIVE Systems (ima!jim)
