I've really enjoyed the Mrs. Pollifax books; that little old lady really gets around. Good adventure story with humor, and she makes me wish I had her aplomb. She handles things like a true hero, and of course things come out all right in the end, whether she's helping the underground in Hungary or being held in prison in South America. Really enjoyable (no deep social commentary, I'm afraid - on the other hand, I get tired of deep social commentary sometimes). Had anyone read "The Destroyer" series? It's got to be one of the SILLIEST adventure/spy/kung-fu (sorry, sinanju) series. I've only read a few, but my mom has over 50, I think. *phew*! - rene -- rene@nlm-mcs
