While shovelling through some of the detritus of a short visit to Germany I made in June, I came across a copy of the magazine "Der Spiegel" (dated 11 June) which I had bought but never finished reading. Towards the back of the magazine, I came across a list of that week's top-selling works of fiction. And the top three were: (1) Michael Ende, "Die unendliche Geschichte" ("The NeverEnding Story") (2) Michael Ende, "Momo" (3) Michael Ende, "Der Spiegel im Spiegel" ("The Mirror in the Mirror") Not bad for a book that's been out for almost five years, and was the topseller for three of those years. And "Momo" has been out almost eleven years! (BTW, number four was Eco's "The Name of the Rose.") I haven't heard anything about "Der Spiegel im Spiegel," however. Is this a new work? -- TW PS. Vielleicht wurde schon "Der Spiegel im Spiegel" im "Spiegel" diskutiert? :-) -- Tom Wilkes School of Information & Computer Science, Georgia Tech, Atlanta GA 30332 CSNet: wilkes @ GATech ARPA: wilkes%GATech.CSNet @ CSNet-Relay.ARPA uucp: ...!{akgua,allegra,amd,hplabs,ihnp4,masscomp,ut-ngp}!gatech!wilkes
