I solicit input from anybody out there who has had magazines bound, or who works for an organization that has had this done (part-time job in a university library, for example?): I have a large magazine collection, some of which are worth binding and which would be better reference sources if they were. However, I have no idea what this costs these days; it may be so expensive that it isn't worth it, or perhaps I would do better by just buying a bunch of those loose-leaf-style binders into which I can put the magazines myself. Can anyone let me know what they have paid for this sort of service, if there were any price breaks for quantities (e.g., less per volume if there are 20 or more, or whatever), and if there are any problems or special conditions I should watch out for? I am not interested in fancy or personalized bindings; just some sort of "library utility" form will do. Having the magazine name and dates on the spine would be nice, but I could skip that if it was an expensive option. If I get any response, I'll post a summary.
