[net.books] Peterson Field Guide to Stars & Planets

For anyone who's interested, I picked up a Very Good book on
Astronomy this week end. It is "A Field Guide to the Stars & Planets"
(Second Edition,Revised) from the (Roger Tory) Peterson Field Guide
Series. It was published (2nd edition) in 1983 and is available in both
Hard & Soft cover. Authored by:Donald H. Menzel & Jay M. Paschoff with
 Roger Tory Peterson as editor.

It contains numerous star charts/tables/grapghs/pictures/etc. Very well
organized and seem to contain a large volume of data on various subjects.

Over all I'd give it a 4 star { :-) } rating! Useful for both the
novice & advanced amature astronomer. May even be useful to some expert
types. A definate must buy item for those of us (myself incl.) who are
just getting started in amature astronomy. Let me know your opinions,
 hope to hear from you.

   Best Regards,
 Steve Aldrich (ihnp4!ihuxj!amra)
