Several years ago, there was a poster generally available at SF conventions which, to my taste, was the best treatment of the GOR series. The poster was done in a pastiche of the GOR paperback and jacket covers, and depicted a small, mousey gentleman with thick, wire-rimmed glasses and a blue three-piece suit. Over his shoulder is flung a scantily clad, voluptuous blonde. The caption reads: CPA of GOR Only by refusing to take these books seriously can we accept them into our desired social matrix. -- T.F.Prune (Bill Wickart) {allegra | ihnp4 | tektronix} !ogcvax!inteloa -- "Operator, trace this call and tell me where I am"

I say another GOR (eccchh!) cover: a pert, barely pubescent teenaged girl, in a cheerleading outfit and bubble-type space helmet. She has put one foot on the carcass of a huge beast she has just slain, and is holding the dripping, bloody head in one hand. Podkayne(sp?) of Gor.
