Does anyone have suggestions about literature concerning fractals and/or chaotic attractors? It would be helpful if anything is available referencing applications. Many thanks in advance... The two classic books on fractals that you should be aware of are
FRACTALS form, chance, and dimension (ISBN 0-7167-0473-0)
The Fractal Geometry of Nature (ISBN 0-7167-1186-9)
Both books are published by W. H. Freeman and Company San Francisco and the
author is Benoit B. Mandelbrot.
Another very good reference on chaotic behaviour is in a periodical entitled
Physica D (Netherlands). Proceedings of the International
Conference on Order in Chaos. Vol. 7D, No. 1-3, Los Alamos NM USA
24-28 May 1982.
There are papers in in this publication by Feigenbaum (chaos theory) and
Mandelbrot.
