Health is a big sell in publishing today. Everyone, from Jane Fonda to Victoria Principal, has published a book or a tape or something on being healthy. And now we have the ultimate in excercise books, from our dear friend Winnie the Pooh. Pooh's Workout Book (By Ethan Mordden, E.P. Dutton, Inc, $10.95, 170 pages) is an interesting switch on literary criticism-- it isn't about excercises nearly as much as it is about Milne and his creations-- excercises in the world of Pooh are much different than in the rest of the world. A fresh exploration into the world many of us enjoy, this book captures very nicely what IS Pooh. It is written quite closely to the originals, and Mordden obviously knows the material, sucessfully bringing the flavor forward that makes Pooh Pooh. Very enjoyable, very literate, and highly recommended to anyone who enjoys spending an evening with the Bear and his friends... chuq -- From behind the bar at Callahan's: Chuq Von Rospach {allegra,cbosgd,decwrl,hplabs,ihnp4,seismo}!nsc!chuqui nsc!chuqui@decwrl.ARPA The evil that men do lives after them; the good is oft interred with their bones.
