I remember reading somewhere Somerset Maugham's list of (his opinion of) the ten greatest novels ever written, or the ten novels everyone should read, or something like that. The list included "The Red and the Black" by Stendahl and one by Balzac, but I can't remember the others. Could someone out there refresh my memory (via Email and I will summarize). A related question: does anyone know of any other great authors who have compiled similar lists? I would be interested (and again, I will summarize for the net). Thanks, Mike
