[net.books] Did Karl Marx say "I am not a Marxist"?

I believe Karl Marx is supposed to have said,"I am not a Marxist."
Does anyone know if this is true? and if so, what the context was?
			Thanks in advance

Indeed, he did say this. I've been unable to find out where he said this,
but the general context was in arguing against the scholastic drivel which
was being put out by others claiming him as a mentor.

As I've heard it, Marx was referring to the dogmatic and
sectarian practice of the French socialists. He made
the comment "I am not a Marxist" to his son-in-law
Paul Lafargue.

I don't know of any confirmation in print, though.
