[net.books] "The Turning Point" by Fritjof Capra

swb@lasspvax.UUCP (Scott Brim) (08/12/85)

I would like quickie reviews on the above book - either to me or to the net.
It seems to me that this will deserve reading - the author (who also wrote "The
Tao of Physics") knows physics, has spiritual inclinations, and is also trying
to figure out how we are going to turn this world around and save our
civilization. Only calm, thoughtful postings please.
										Thanks ... Scott

I don't know anything about "The Turning Point," but I recently read Capra's
"Green Politics," the book about the West German Green party which he
co-wrote with Charlene Spretnak. Excellent book! I hope to write a
full-length review of it soon (for publication elsewhere, but I'll cc a copy
to the net if I do).

Although Capra seems to have a spiritual side and definitely has strong
opinions about the future of the planet and what we should do about it now,
don't let that scare you away from reading him; he didn't let it interfere
with the clarity of either his thinking or his writing in "Green Politics."
