than the American title did.  As much as possible I have tried to list the
American title with the English title in (), however, sometimes her books
had more than one American or more than one English title.  Also, note
that a lot of her books are collections of short stories.  Therefore, they
may  be listed under more than one of her detectives.  Also, the English
titles sometimes contain more stories than the Americans do.
