[net.books] Book listings

Let me add another vote in favor of continuing, and in appreciation for,
the listings of books that have been appearing. These represent a lot of
work, both in the compilation and in the keyboarding, and I'm glad to
have access to this data and the fruits of others' labors!

While I'm only interested in maybe a third of the authors that have been
covered so far (mostly for my wife's interests more than my own,
actually), I am sure that others have been interested in the other
authors that we didn't care about. So I would not speak against the
inclusion of any of them!

As for the reference to looking in "Books in Print", it is obvious that
the poster of the complaint is in no way a "completionist" and has never
tried to compile a definitive bibliography of any author. "Books in
Print" is next to worthless for this. Also, the advantage of having
these lists in an on-line format is substantial, making them easy to
print out, edit, and annotate as one sees fit. The sheer typing effort
involved in doing this sort of thing from scratch, working from printed
references, is so great that having this work already done for us is a
great benefit.
